Types of tattoo removal methods and how to speed up tattoo removal?

Are you currently living with a tattoo that you regret? Well… you are not alone! For many, their tattoo can be a source of embarrassment in both their personal and professional lives.
So you’ve made a commitment to remove your unwanted tattoo, and now you want the best and fastest result possible. Although the history of tattoo removal is basically as old as tattoos themselves. For centuries, people have tried many methods to remove tattoos. Here are some of them:
Salabrasion: this is the oldest method of tattoo removal, still in use today. It is done by the abrasion of the epidermis and dermis (skin outer layers) with a salt-based solution. This is a very painful method that can and cause visible damage to the skin.
Dermabrasion: this is a very similar method except it uses a mechanical method for the abrasion of the epidermis and dermis. This is also a very painful method that can and cause visible long term damage to the skin.
Skin excision: this is the surgical removal of the tattooed skin which leaves a scar, depending on the size of the tattoo.
Subcutaneous Injections of Solutions: This method involves injecting liquid solution (most often glycolic acid) under the skin, so that they may affect the ink of the tattoo. These solutions may leave long-term scars or burn-like marks and moreover, the effectiveness of this method is not consistently proven.
Tattoo Removal Creams: It is extremely difficult to remove ink with a cream regardless of type, as they may only superficially fade inks located in the epidermis (outer layer of skin).
Laser Tattoo Removal: Laser treatment is often safer than many other tattoo removal methods, as laser treatment selectively treats the pigment in the tattoo with minimal side effects. Especially YAG Laser is the tool of choice for most tattoo removal practitioners.
At Thaj yag laser – a high-powered laser is used to remove unwanted tattoos, which passes harmlessly through the outer layer of the skin and is absorbed primarily by the tattoo ink. It also tightens the collagen which improves certain types of wrinkles and other signs of photo damage Sun damage.
The yag laser is a high-powered laser that removes unwanted tattoos by emitting a highly focused beam of laser light, which passes harmlessly through the outer layer of the skin and is absorbed primarily by the tattoo ink or the excess pigment within the lesion. lt also tightens the collagen which improves certain types of wrinkles and other signs of Sun damage.
As the light is absorbed, it is quickly converted to heat. The sudden rise in temperature within the treatment target fractures the ink or pigment into tiny particles. Tattoo ink fragments are carried away by the lymphatic system, while pigmented lesions are naturally shed from the skin one to two weeks after treatment.
Depending on the size and location of the tattoo or lesion, each treatment usually takes about 10 to 30 minutes.
Tattoo removals are a lengthy process, requiring several treatments over several months, so why not try to speed it up a little?
Wonder how? There are a few safe, healthy, and natural ways for you to help the tattoo removal process move along more quickly. A few small changes to your everyday life can help process your treatments more effectively, helping your immune system do its job better smoothly. Here are a few ways to get your ink fading as quickly as possible!
Avoid the sun:
Avoiding sun exposure to the treated area can help speed up the removal process as overexposure to the sun can suppress the immune system. Also, patients who get a sun burn will have to wait for their skin to fully heal before continuing with their next treatment session, prolonging the tattoo removal process. If you must go outdoors make sure to use a high quality sunscreen or try covering your tattoo with UV resistant clothing.
Quit Smoking:
Smoking will disrupt or slow down your body’s ability to dispose ink, as it causes a constriction of your body’s blood vessels making it difficult for your immune system to dispose the fragmented ink particles broken down by the removal procedure.
Exercise Regularly:
A great way to increase blood circulation between treatments which in turn will get rid of the ink faster is to exercise on a regular basis. Tattoos treated will fade faster, and heal more efficiently when they receive more blood circulation.
Drink lots of water:
Water will help speed up and facilitate the drainage of the fragmented ink particles broken down by the tattoo removal procedure, as water is the most natural way to rid your body of toxins.
Get enough sleep:
Faster tattoo removal results is as simple as getting enough sleep each night, as Sleep deprivation can suppress immune system functioning. So make sure to get enough sleep each night during treatment.
Load up on lean Protein:
Eating extra lean protein helps when the skin is injured. Not getting enough protein, may delay your skin’s recovery process, which can hinder your tattoo removal results.
Avoid Stress:
Avoid stress as stress can have a direct negative impact on the functioning of your immune system, elevating the body’s cortisol levels which can suppress the immune system.
No New Ink between treatments:
If you’re in the middle of a tattoo removal treatment, Getting inked will hinder your body’s ability to take your unwanted ink through your lymphatic channels to dispose it.
Try avoiding Infection:
Any kind of infection can slow the body’s ability to remove the ink. So follow simple hygiene rituals to prevent infections.
Follow your Aftercare Instructions:
Following your aftercare instructions will help facilitate a speedy tattoo removal process, flushing away the ink more efficiently by your body.

FAQ:

1. What does LED phototherapy do?

LED phototherapy is a great treatment to calm any areas of irritation and it’s also brilliant at brightening the skin. When used consistently for the recommended course of time, they penetrate your skin at different depths and cause various reactions in your skin, such as fighting acne-causing bacteria, plumping skin and reducing wrinkles.

2. Is it suitable for sensitive skin?

LED phototherapy treatment is suitable for all skin types and can be extremely calming for even the most sensitive skin types.

3. How often should I have the treatment?

For long-lasting results we will recommend a course – usually a course of 4-6 treatments at fortnight intervals depending on your skin condition. After the course of treatments, you can have a maintenance treatment once every month.

4. What are the expected results?

The results are visible skin refinement and an even, radiant skin tone after just one treatment. We at Thaj doesn’t believe in quick fixes that don’t last long. So one treatment per fortnight is recommended for best results. A course of treatments offers corrective and long-lasting results, although you’ll be able to see a difference after the first session.

5. Is there any downtime?

There is no downtime post-treatment. You may appear a little flushed which will usually subside within an hour. LED phototherapy is also particularly calming, so you’ll leave feeling refreshed.

6. Does light therapy hurt?

No, LED Phototherapy is completely non-invasive and does not hurt. All you’ll feel is a slight warmth.
At Dr. Thaj laser skin hair clinic, this therapy is done with the latest LED mask from the U.K for successfully managing different skin problems, as the strength of the light is the key to successful skin treatment.

What is Photodynamic therapy?

Photodynamic therapy is a clinically approved, noninvasive therapeutic procedure that can exert a selective cytotoxic activity toward malignant cells. The procedure involves administration of a photosensitizing agent followed by irradiation at a wavelength corresponding to an absorbance band of the sensitizer. In the presence of oxygen, a series of events lead to direct tumour cell death, damage to the microvasculature and induction of a local inflammatory reaction. Photodynamic therapy (PDT) has been used as the treatment for non-melanoma skin cancer such as actinic keratosis, squamous cell carcinoma in situ and basal cell carcinoma particularly in co-morbid and immune-compromised patients .Many studies demonstrate the efficacy of PDT for cosmetic dermatology uses as photo rejuvenation and acne. The light used for PDT includes LASER, IPL, LEDs (mask) Blue light, red light etc. At present, there are two available photosensitizers (PS) referring to 5-alpha-aminolevulinic acid (ALA) and methyl-ester of ALA (MAL). Photodynamic therapy (PDT) using topical aminolevulinic acid (ALA) has increasingly been used for the treatment of acne vulgaris and several studies have shown its clinical efficacy. However, ALA-PDT needs a relatively long incubation period and is frequently associated with adverse effects. Riboflavin (vitamin B2) and Tryptophan have been introduced as a new photosensitizer for photodynamic therapy at DR.THAJ LASER SKIN HAIR CLINIC recently without side effects. Riboflavin is a promising alternative photosensitizing molecule

What Does Photodynamic Therapy Treat?

Photodynamic therapy was initially used on the face to treat pre-cancerous lesions called actinic keratosis. Recently, PDT has been used to treat rosacea, wrinkles, sun damage, discolourations and age spots. Photodynamic acne therapy is also becoming a popular option for the treatment of mild to moderate acne.
At Dr.Thaj laser skin hair clinic, this therapy is done with the latest LED mask from U.K for successfully managing different skin problems, as the strength of the light is the key to successful skin treatment.

Non -Surgical Fat Reduction Treatment -Cryolipolysis |Dr. Thaj Laser  Skin & Hair Clinic
Cryolipolysis
Non surgical fat reduction treatment – Cryolipolysis

Sometimes, no matter how intense the workout or how strict the diet is, one can’t seem to ditch that stubborn fat. Many have certain trouble areas where flab builds up and doesn’t shed, despite their efforts. If you are one of those then cryolipolysis is just what you are looking for.

What is Cryolipolysis?
Cool Sculpting is done to target areas of the body where it is more difficult to remove fat similar to liposuction.
Cryolipolysis is also called as Cryo Sculpting that selectively reduces fat deposits with localized controlled cooling. The procedure involves the use of an applicator that cools the fat cells in the targeted area of your body for a simple, natural fat removal process. This is based on the finding that fat cells beneath the skin are naturally more vulnerable to the effects of cold than the other surrounding tissues.

Cool Sculpting has many benefits as it is nonsurgical, noninvasive, and requires no recovery time effectively reducing fat cells in the treatment area.
This procedure is designed for people who want to get rid of stubborn fat in certain spots of their body and is not a method of weight loss as it is meant for people who are within 30 pounds of recommended body weight.

How does it work?
Cryolipolysis freezes fat cells, causing them to program themselves to naturally self-destruct. This is accomplished by using a vacuum with round paddles in different sizes to suction the skin and fat, pulling the fat away from the body between two cooling plates. The fat is frozen to a precise temperature for one to two hours in this procedure. At this temperature, the other cells such as skin, blood vessels, and nerves are not damaged.
The treatment session is so relaxed that you can simply nap while the machine goes to work. The whole process usually takes two or more hours to perform, depending on the size of the area being treated.

Its principle relies on controlled cooling to near -4 Celsius for the non-invasive localized reduction of fat deposits to reshape body contours. The exposure to cooling is set so that it causes cell death of subcutaneous fat tissue without apparent damage to the overlying skin. The treated fat cells are removed through natural metabolic processes within the body, similar to the way fat from food is removed.

Cryolipolysis is the first fat removal system where research has shown the fat reduction on a lasting or permanent basis. Moreover, it’s safe.

cryolipolysis is known to have a high success rate as they are effective for removing areas of fat from the body, and have fewer side effects than other procedures, such as liposuction.
Cryolipolysis before and after
1
Some stubborn fat bulges are immune to diet and exercise.
2
Cryolipolysis targets and cools fat cells to temperatures that trigger fat cell apoptosis.
3
No damage to nerves or other tissues because lipids in fat crystallize at a warmer temperature than water in other cell types.
4
Following treatment, fat cells enter an apoptotic death sequence and are gradually removed in the next few weeks and months by the immune system.
5
Fat layer thickness significantly reduced.
6
Fat layer reduction in targeted area leads to an improvement in flank appearance.

What areas does Cryolipolysis best work on?

Cryolipolysis is used to eliminate stubborn fat, sculpting and re-contouring most areas of the body now. The most commonly treated areas include the abdomen, arms, outer hips, inner and outer thighs, muffin top area, back, bra fat, and even small areas like the double chin. We at Thaj provide patients with an evaluation to see which areas of the body will provide the most desirable outcome.

Who are the ideal candidates?
Some people make better candidates for the procedure than others.  Here are a few signs to know whether Cryolipolysis might be the right option for you:
  • The most ideal candidates are those that eat a healthy diet and exercise.
  • Those who are near their weight loss goals
  • Those who are generally healthy
  • Women who are not pregnant or thinking about pregnancy
  • Those who have enough fat that is pinchable
  • People with realistic expectations
cryolipolisis can also be used in curvier patients to reduce the fat but only as part of a weight-loss.

The treatment :
The procedure is preferably done on an empty stomach; 2 or 3 hours after food. No other preparation is necessary, and it is an outpatient procedure.
The treatment is performed by first selecting the appropriate probe based on the anatomic location being treated. The patient will be asked to lie down and the area to be treated is covered with an antifreeze gel sheet. The probe is then applied, and the skin and fat fold are brought into the suction head. After the skin and fat layer is cured, the temperature is dropped sufficiently to freeze the fat.
The temperature used will vary from -2C to -6C. Two areas can be treated simultaneously. There is no pain or discomfort during the procedure. The patient can resume their activities immediately. Next treatment is usually done after 2 months.

Is Cryolipolysis permanent?Cryolipolysis is a permanent fat reduction technology, but the patient has to control their weight post procedure as long lasting improvements to the body can only occur by changing to a healthier lifestyle, nutrition and exercise.
To get comparable results, the procedure should be done under the supervision of a skilled Dermatologist with multiple treatment cycles.
Is it safe?
Since this is a noninvasive procedure, the risks, comparatively speaking, are very low. The patients are able to return to their normal activities following the procedure. There are potential side effects, such as bruising, swelling and temporary redness, cramping or stinging in the treated areas, but this is generally mild and doesn’t last long.
The dead fat is slowly removed by the body over a period of 3 months. Hence results will be visible over a period. During this period some amount of pain and altered sensations can be experienced.

How is the frozen fat eliminated?
The frozen fat cells that become crystallized, then die are naturally processed and eliminated by your body.

When will the results be visible?
While results may vary from person to person, the patient may start seeing changes in their body as quickly as 3 weeks after the treatment. The most dramatic results are usually visible after 2 months as the body flushes out the dead fat cells.
